Compost Tea
Compost tea is an aerobic water-based solution that contains beneficial microbe populations and nutrients from compost. It is a concentrated nutrient-rich liquid that is applied to plant/soil care by gardeners, in order to substantially increase a plant’s exposure to beneficial organisms and nutrients.
To protect plants against foliar disease, compost tea can be sprayed every 2 weeks for one month. Compost tea can also be applied to promote growth, although the frequency of application depends on individual environmental conditions. It is recommended that soils are supplemented with compost tea twice a year (spring and fall).
High-quality compost tea can be made or brewed using professional compost tea kits, although some composters come with built-in compost tea features.
